Seychelles overall is an awesome place, consists of 3 major islands, Mahe their capital, where we landed, Praslin and Ladigue and around 100 tiny islands. People are very helpful. No one will try to forge u. Our tamils took the honors of running grocery from mallu in this part..:D..Temperature is same throught d year, Hot sun and rain everyday. Sun cream and loads of tissues are must. Rental cars are available easily, but buses are also ok. Its all right hand drive. Rental would be around 50 euros a day and fuel is arnd 2$ a litre. Seychelles rupees is 3.7 dhs. They accept Euros everywhere, even in taxis and small shops, but i feel its better to convert it in a go to get a better rate.
Mahe: The airport itself is in awesome location, one side sea and mountains on the other. Dont forget to have ur camera on hand while you board ur flight,http://www.wikimapia.
Its largest among all islands, and very beautiful, there is nothing much to see here other than a beach and going around, ther is a ganesh temple here.
Praslin:
next largest island, i think but it is only 7% of mahe. 2 beaches (Grand Anse and Cote D'or), beaches are really calm and out of crowd in praslin comparing to mahe and Vallee de mai, a national park maintained by UNESCO, with some rare species of palms. Ferries available from mahe (1 hr), arnd 85 Euros per person
La digue:
The one v like the most. A tiny island, you will get bicycles on hire here. Can roam the whole island in cycle. They charge 200 rupees per day. Ferrys to this islands are availble from mahe(1 hr) and Praslin(15 mins), 400 SR per person
Other islands:
There is no public transport(ferries) available to other islands. You can get private boats, there are some local guys in praslin arranging small trips to islands in small boats, but they are not leagal. Eventhough they seems to be friendly, i am not sure whether its safe to go with them.
Trip organisers:
There are 2 major trip organisers Creole and Masons. This mason's seems to be quite good. But i feel no need for tat, if you go on your own you can enzoy a lot and save a lot of perks as well.
Hotel:
There are lot of hotels available. We booked a hotel called Berjaya, in Beau vallon beach in mahe( the hotel is on beach front both in mahe and praslin). After going there came to know that they have a hotel in praslin and transfer is possible, free of charge, so we opted that as there is nothing to see in mahe for more than a day,first day we were in mahe and next 2 days in praslin. Check for that option, if not available in the hotels. I feel its better to book a hotel in praslin, as you have the same things in both the places and beaches are less crowded in praslin.
Activities:
You can do a lot like diving, snorkeling, para-gliding, skiing, trucking. But as we have 3 days we havnt tried any. Try for a week's trip and u can cover whole of seychelles. There s one more island called Bird which s a hot spot for bird watchers,so many endemic varieties of birds. There s another island owned by a 80 yr old man.."he owns it" it used to b a hideout for pirates n there s a myth of hidden treasures..if u r lucky :P
Food:
Its quite difficult as a vegetarian. You will get pizzas and fresh/bottled juices, if you are ok. they ll give u something called chilly cake but its nothing but molaga bajji :P.All the shops will close early arnd 5 pm i guess. Restaurants are available
